It’s almost time to get your share of Christmas movie enjoyment on free to air TV, it is the best time of the year and everyone gets to enjoy their favourite movie. The festive movies build anticipation as Christmas Day nears, these tend to remind us all of what really matters in life, and it motivates us to spend as much time with our family as possible. This year Australians have no shortage when it comes to films on free to air TV, and here are some of the scheduled films to mark down in your diary.
If Home Alone is one of your favourites, then do make sure you free your schedule from 7 pm on Sunday the 18th of December when it airs on Network Ten. Watch as a pair of burglars get to deal with the troublemaker, only eight years old, left by mistake behind as his family leaves for their Christmas holiday. Apart from its family Christmas theme it also shows how a very creative mind could be the best security system. Major stars in Home Alone includes Daniel Stern, Joe Pesci and Macaulay Culkin.
This is the one film you do not want to miss, even if you have watched it over and over again, tune into channel seven on Monday the 19th of December and enjoy the feel-good Love Actually. Starting at 8:30, you get to follow the lives of different couples, each dealing with their own love lives as well as the busy month right before Christmas in London. The star-studded film includes Liam Neeson, Martine McCutcheon and Hugh Grant.
9GO airs the Elf on Sunday the 18th of December at 7:30 pm, it’s a classic Christmas tale modernised to offer the best comedy. A human raided elf, also called Clumsy Buddy is sent to the United States to discover his true identity after he almost succeeds single handily to bring the well-working system of Santa to a standstill. The main stars in Elf include Bob Newhart, James Caan and Will Ferrell.
Christmas with the Kranks
9GO also brings you Christmas cheer on Friday the 23rd of December at 9:30 when it airs, Christmas with the Kranks. To beat the Christmas blues and empty nest syndrome they both suffer, Nora and Luther Krank book a cruise, allowing them to simply skip the holidays. The whole neighbourhood gets upset about this decision. The two main characters are brilliantly portrayed by Jamie Lee Curtis and Tim Allen.
Jingle All The Way
9GO also calls Schwarzenegger to the film stage on Friday the 23rd of December by 7:40. Jingle All The Way, brings tribute to how wrong a Christmas wish and unfulfilled promise could go when a well-meaning father makes a commitment basically impossible for any workaholic to stick to. However, he tries and what makes this both hilariously funny and highly entertaining is the brilliant acting and well-directed scenes. The main actors include Sinbad, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Phil Hartman.
